Dior by John Galliano SS03 PUNK Mask Sunglasses
A pair of Dior PUNK sunglasses from Spring/Summer 2003, designed during John Galliano’s tenure at the house. The sunglasses are built around a narrow, horizontally elongated wraparound shield lens, extending continuously across the face with a sharply defined nose opening. Broad black temples continue the line of the lens toward the sides, where subtle Dior branding is integrated into the frame.
The PUNK model reflects the futuristic eyewear language of Galliano’s early-2000s Dior, reducing conventional sunglasses into a low, mask-like form that sits close across the face. The smoke-grey shield lens and monochromatic black construction emphasize the continuous horizontal profile, while the sculpted temples give the otherwise minimal design a distinctly architectural presence. An archival example from Dior Spring/Summer 2003, the model remains closely associated with the experimental accessories of Galliano-era Dior.
